KAIASSE's first WEKAF world championship in 2004

The first time KAIASSE took part to a world championship was in 2004. The famous fight between Jean Claude and a filipino remains in all memories like "the most bleeding fight we ever saw in the history of worlds."

We will always keep in mind that famous day in Waterfront, Lahug, CEBU, when Steve WOLK gave his gold medal to Jean Claude CALIMOUTOU, thinking he deserved more that metal than the bronze one he received.

That's part of our common history and we accept it very easily. Our goal is to honour the FMA and, up to now, we tried our best to promote that fabulous art throghout our country and the world.

For that first contact with the Philippines, we were part of the France team, led by Mr Thomas ROUSSEL, world champion in 2000 and guro in FMA. Thanks to him we had the chance to come to that great country and meet SGM Diony CANETE as well all the country directors, during the congress and the competition held in SM Mall.
